About the winner:

Joe Frazier was born on 12th January 1944 in the city of Beaufort in South Carolina. He was an erstwhile heavyweight boxing champion who was at the peak of his boxing career between 1960’s and 70’s. Joseph William “Smokin” Joe Frazier was the greatest champion of heavyweights ever, though he is more renowned for the trilogy boxing fights fought with Muhammad Ali. The first of the trilogy matches was won hands down by Frazier which was unanimously agreed and the boxing match bouts till date are considered to be the greatest of all times. Joe Frazier is famous for persistent quest of opponents and the techniques he used while boxing such as the fast cutting angles are similar to train’s travel evocative sound.

Life history:

Joe Frazier was raised in Philadelphia in what he pens in the autobiography in a poor but a happy family conditions. In his early childhood itself, he was stronger than his other friends of same age. Subsequent to his 20th birthday, he won Gold Medal in the heavyweight 84 kg category in Summer Olympics of 1964. Joe joined the pros boxing in the year 1965. Joe got introduced to the world of Boxing due to a local trainer of Philadelphia who himself was a middleweight boxer, named Yancey Durham. In the late 60’s, Joe won almost 9 boxing fights, amongst which 8 were knockout triumphs. Frazier became ubiquitously renowned as champion on the 16th Feb 1970 when WBA champion Jimmy Ellis lost the boxing match to Frazier.
